What I Wore Wednesday...Sequins!

This year the one thing I wanted for my "New Years" church outfit was sequins.  I specifically wanted a sequined skirt, and I was really excited when I came across this sequined pencil skirt at Maurice's.  I immediately tried it on and loved it, and I knew it was just the thing I had been looking for.

I hadn't even told anyone that I bought a sequined skirt, and for Christmas, my mother-in-law ended up buying me this shirt that has sequins around the neckline.  It looks like the shirt was made to go with the skirt!  I was so excited and had so much fun wearing something a little different.

 Outfit Details:  Top:  JC Penney; Skirt: Maurice's;
Tights: Target (love these! they are Assets Shapers);

Happy New Year's Eve!
I hope your 2015 is wonderful!!!

What I Got For Christmas

  I hope you had a fabulous Christmas! I received so many wonderful gifts of which I am very grateful. I want to show you two things that I'm really excited about & can't wait to show you later on me wearing them!

First, I have had my eye on this purse for awhile. Daniel was so kind to buy it for me & I absolutely cannot wait to carry it!

Second, my mother-in-law gave me these super cute tennis shoes! Mine were wearing out since I had them before Daniel & I were married. Who knows, maybe these will make me want to run?? I wouldn't count on it.. :)

Christmas wish list

I can't believe we are only a few days away from Christmas! The excitement is growing in my home! Around here we all love Christmas. We love all the traditions, the delicious food, beautiful lights everywhere and most of all the reminder of Jesus birth and what it means for all of us. We are having so much fun taking it all in this week. This year, due to lack of planning on my part, we haven't done near as many activities as we normally do for Christmas. Normally I try to pack our schedule with tons of holiday get togethers and events to fill our December calendar. This year, I didn't have the time to do that. I thought this would leave me and my family feeling like we missed out on some things. It has been just the opposite. We have been able to enjoy the things that we have scheduled so much more and enjoy our time together just being together as a family with friends and close family. In my quiet time a few weeks ago, I was reminded that Satan wants us to fill our calendars so full with activities that we forget to truly reflect on the reason for this season and spend quiet times with our Lord in the stillness. Is there any stillness to be found in December?? Yes! If we choose to say no to every option that could fill our calendar sometimes we find we have more time to truly enjoy this season and enjoy Him in whom we are celebrating! I hope this week we can all choose together to make time to enjoy some quiet moments in God's word and in prayer celebrating Him and the birth of Christ.

In our family, Christmas has always been a BIG deal. We love exchanging gifts and celebrating. Here is a look at some things I'm hoping I may find under the tree on Christmas morning!! I am loving this plaid tunic. I love the length and pattern of this tunic and know I could get a lot of wear out of this! I also love this adorable hair clip. This fun workout shirt would be a great addition to my workout wear because it pretty much sums up why I spend so much time running. Haha.

Merry Christmas!!

What I Wore Wednesday: The Perfect Christmas Leggings!

Like Julie mentioned yesterday in this post, plaid seems to be all the rage right now.  I personally love plaid even when it's not in style (but let's be honest, does plaid ever really go out of style? I don't think so...), and am really excited that it can be found any and everywhere.

I received my first Christmas gift of the season, and it was a pair of plaid leggings!!  I wasn't sure what I thought about them until I put them on, and I really loved them.  They are a heavy fabric and are very warm, and I love that they have a real Christmasy feel to them!

Sorry about the quality of my pictures.  I guess the only thing worse than my eight year old taking my pictures is me taking my pictures.  I love that.

And a close up of my leggings:

Happy Wednesday!

Plaid

    Who isn't in love with plaid right now? I know I am...& the rest of the world! Anyways, I have two outfits to show you today. The first I wore to a Deacon Christmas Party. It was basically Daniel & I & a lot of lovely older people!! I decided to go with something kinda classic for the party.

The green cardigan - Gap ($3!), red plaid shirt - hand me down, navy skirt - Old Navy ($8), brown booties - Ross ($22).

The second outfit was something I threw together real quick to take the kids to the library!

Same green cardigan! Navy shirt - Old Navy ($2), Jeans - Old Navy ($11), Same shoes! & I LOVE this scarf that I got from Katie in our sock exchange we did at Thanksgiving!
