What I Wore Wednesday...A Cheetah Cardigan

Cheetah print is probably my favorite ever.  When a friend of mine gave me this cheetah print cardigan in a bag full of hand me downs, I was ecstatic about it and wore it the very next Sunday night to church.

Outfit Details: Cardigan (hand me down, original unknown); WhiteTee: Target;
Black Jeggings: Old Navy; Booties: Payless

Let's talk about these jeggings for a sec.  Why didn't I know these existed before now?!  I bought these a couple of weeks ago at Old Navy and I LOVE them.  They have an elastic waist.  Did you read that correctly?  Yes, you did.  An.elastic.waist.  I thought that was only okay when you're either pregnant or 80+.  But, no, ON said it's okay and so I am just dying over these.  They fit awesome (more like a jean than a legging), and the top is surprisingly slimming - and to top it off, there are no bulky zippers or buttons if you're wearing a slim fitting tshirt! I'll take these in every color they come in, thank you very much!!!

I have really gotten my money's worth out of these earrings!  I bought them at Body Central (which has closed in my local mall - so sad) and I have worn them so much!  I also really love my initial necklace (you can't see it very well) that I got from Charming Charlie, as well as this beautiful necklace that my mom got me for Christmas.

Isn't it so fun to accessorize with Cheetah print?!  I'm pretty sure it will always be a favorite!

Happy Wednesday!

What I Wore Wednesday: Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve!  I can't even believe how quickly this year has flown by!  Today just a quick share...one sweater worn two ways for some Christmas style.

 Outfit Details:  Sweater: Hand me down (original Target);
Button down shirt: JC Penney; Skirt: Hand me down;
Red Heels: Shoe Show

I wore this outfit on Sunday to church for "Christmas Sunday".  Last night we took the girls out to dinner and to see a movie, and I pulled the same sweater out but changed it up a bit to be more casual.

Button Down Shirt: Hand me down (original Target);
Jeans: Walmart; Booties: Payless

I hope you are enjoying your Christmas Eve!  I saw this image below and loved it - may we all remember the true reason not only for the Christmas season, but for life itself!

Merry Christmas.

What I Wore Wednesday...Tribal Tunic

I love a good tunic, and when I saw this tribal print at Ross, there was no way I could turn it down!  It was only $12, and so I felt like it was a really great price!!!

Outfit Details:  Tunic:  Ross; Jean Leggings:  Walmart;
Wedges:  Payless
Sorry that these pictures are blurry...my 8 year old photographer did a great job of making sure that the background was in focus with these pictures! :)

I wore this tunic to a Ladies Night Out with the girls at church and I love that I was able to wear these fun wedges with it!  These shoes are one of my absolute favorites in my closet, but surprisingly I don't have a whole lot that I wear them with.  So it was fun to pull them out before the season ends!

Happy Wednesday!

What I Wore Wednesday...Black & White Details

I don't usually like to wear black and white in the summer, but this past Sunday I pulled out a dress that has been hanging in my closet for two years...yes, I said TWO years, and I had never worn it until Sunday!

 Outfit Details:  Dress:  Hand me Down (original unknown); Wedges: Payless

It's one of those dresses that is just all about the details.  I love the embroidery on the dress, along with the handstitching on the neckline and the hemline of the dress.  It was pretty much a major hit at church...the thing that I found most ironic was that I got more compliments from men on this dress than I have ever gotten with any other outfit.  I don't know why?? I got a lot of love from this dress, so it is definitely one that I will wear again (probably not this year, but next year for sure!).

You would think that I would wear these shoes all the time in the summer, but in reality, there just aren't a lot of outfits that I wear these shoes with.  In fact, I think it is the first time this summer that I have worn them to church!  Crazy.  I do think it was the perfect shoe for this outfit, though.

Are you counting down the days to fall?  I am so ready to begin posting fall outfits instead of summer clothes!  Let's hope these next couple of weeks bring our wonderful summer weather to a close!

Happy Wednesday!

What I Wore Wednesday: 4 for the 4th!

Anyone who knows me knows you can always count on me to be one thing:  a holiday dresser!  Yes, I love to celebrate each holiday with my style and fashion.  I just love it!!

To top that off, I don't know of any color combination that is more wonderful than red, white, and blue.  Is it because it stirs up all kind of patriotic pride?  I don't know; all I do know is that I LOVE to wear this combo!

So today for What I Wore Wednesday, I have four recent outfits I have worn in honor of the fourth - let me correct that - three outfits I have worn.  One of them I wanted to wear, but wasn't able to because of the nasty weather on the day I had planned on wearing it.  Anyways, here they are in all their patriotic glory...

This is one of my favorite dresses, and I especially love pulling it out on the 4th and adding a pop or two of red through my accessories!  I wore this on Sunday morning to church.

Outfit Details:  Dress: Hand me down (originally Old Navy);
Red Necklace and Earrings: Charming Charlies; Nude Heels: Target

Although I love this dress, I really didn't want to wear it on Sunday, because I have already worn it this year (remember how I said HERE that I only like to wear my dresses one time per season?  yeah, I had to break down and do just that on Sunday...).  Originally I had planned on wearing this next outfit, but the shoes are suede and are brand new, so I definitely didn't want to take my chances on ruining them the first time I wore them!  So this is my 4th outfit that I didn't get to wear this year...

Outfit Details:  Red & White Shirt: Ross; Blue Tank top: Old Navy;
White Skirt: Hand me down (original unknown); Suede Wedges: Payless

Aren't those shoes amazing?  Here is a closer look at them:

I love me some shoes, and when I saw these, priced at $14.00, I had to have them!

This next outfit is more toned down because the red is not as vibrant, but I still got a lot of "patriotic compliments" the night I wore this to one of Drew's basketball games...

Outfit details:  Chambray shirt: Ross; Shorts: Marshalls;
Gladiator sandals: Rack Room Shoes

These shorts are a very light red and white pinstripe - I just love pinstripe!  Here is a close up of the shorts:

And lastly, this outfit is an unquestionable shout out to the 4th...

Outfit details: Top: Plato's Closet (Original unknown); White Tank top: JC Penney;
Red Pants: Plato's Closet (originally walmart); Red Wedges: Payless

And there you have four different outfits in honor of the 4th!  Can you believe that I'm still not done?  Be sure to check my blog, murphyfamilymadness.blogspot.com, on Friday for a couple more 4th of July favorites!

So thankful for all of the men and women who have fought in the past and present to keep us safe and free here in the US of A!

Happy Wednesday!
