2 Year Anniversary

A couple of weeks ago was my and my husband's 2 year wedding anniversary! The last two years have flown by. I was so excited when Jesse told me that he bought us tickets to go see Phantom of the Opera at the Orpheum!! I absolutely love going to the Orpheum. To me, that is the perfect date. We get to spend time together, and it's a great excuse to get dressed up!
The night that we went the weather was perfect. I was able to wear this strapless dress and not have to worry about it being too cold out. I did carry along a little cardigan for inside the theatre. Jesse never dresses up as much as I do, so I paired this dress with my brown wedges. I felt like that kind of made it a little more casual. As far as accessories, I usually wear bigger jewelry, but for this night I went simple and just went with classic pearls.

Boots, Boots, and more Boots

One of my favorite things about fall is that I can finally pull out my boots!! I have several pairs of boots and I have several more on my wish list. Jesse doesn't understand how I could need any more, but I try to explain to him that they each go with different types of outfits! I have actually had most of my boots now for quite awhile, so I could stand to get some new ones.

I got both of these boots at KMart, of all places, like 6 or 7 years ago. They are perfect with skinny jeans or leggings. My favorite things about these boots are that they are flat, so I can go really casual with them, and also, you can roll the top up over the knee or down below the knee. They are super comfortable and I paid less than $20 for each pair. They have held up great!

My mom gave me these boots when I moved to New York 7 years ago, and I am still wearing them. I get compliments on them all the time! I love the fringe detail, and the wedge. These came from Charlotte Russe. I wear these with dresses a lot because the wedge gives me some height.

The boots I wear probably more than any others are my cowboy boots. I wear these year round. I actually bought these at Ross for $20 several years back. I feel like the more worn in they get, the better they look. I wear these with dresses, skirts, jeans and leggings. I love them!

I have two pairs of ankle boots and I bought both of them while I was out of town. The lace up pair I bought at H&M in NYC. I wear these mainly with my skinny jeans. My Papaw calls these my "plow boots"! The grey pair I bought at Express in Nashville. I wear these with my skinny jeans as well, but also sometimes I'll put them with a little dress.

These are my dressier black boots. Even thought they have a heel, they are still really comfortable. I got these at Shoe Carnival about 9 or 10 year ago and am still loving them!

These are my newest pair of boots. Jesse bought these for me a couple of years ago. I showed him a pair I liked and he picked these out for me. He did a great job! I love the strappy detail. I told him I needed a brown pair with a heel. I'm not sure where these came from, but I really love them, and they are really easy to wear.

You may have noticed that I have magazines in my boots. I read a trick somewhere, that if you stick rolled up magazines in your boots it will keep them standing upright and keep them from slouching over and losing their shape!

Last fall and winter I was pregnant with Graham, and then even after I had him my feet were way too swollen to wear boots. I'm so excited to be able to wear my boots again this year! I'm hoping boot socks are back in style again too!! And like I said, I do have a few other pairs on my wish list...so we'll see...I may be getting some new ones as well!

I'm feeling BLUE

Today I'm going to show you two different outfits that I wore in the same day this past week. The first outfit is what I wore to church on Sunday, and the second is what I changed into when we went to the Allen family June birthday party that afternoon. Later on I realized that they were both basically the same color scheme! I am really loving this blue right now and liked both of these outfits.

Top: Peebles, Shorts: Ann Taylor Loft, Shoes: Target

I'm thinking I may should have saved the shorts outfit for the 4th of July...but too late now! And yes, I realize that half of my tree is missing. We are frantically packing up the house for our big move this weekend, so I had to move the photo shoot outside this week! Please pray that the move goes smoothly!!
