Blush

Outfit Details: Sweater: Hand me down (original unknown);
Gray Skinnies: Old Navy; Wedges: Ross; Earrings: Gift
Coat: Hand me down (original Target)

Blush is not a color that I wear very often - in fact, I think this is the only item of clothing that I have in this color - but the night that I wore this I got so many compliments on it that I am thinking I need to have a few more things in this color!  I guess that means I need to go shopping???

Happy Wednesday!

Purple Dress

This purple dress is one of my favorite dresses in my closet! I have had it for several years, and have worn it a LOT. I love that it can be worn so many different ways. In the summer I wear it by itself with a pair of sandals, and then in the fall and winter I can throw a sweater or scarf with it. Another thing I love is that it is so comfortable!

Dress: Ann Taylor Loft, Cardigan: Hand-me-down from Katie,
Shoes: Express

I could wear casual dresses like this all the time! I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of it!

What I Wore Wednesday...A Cheetah Cardigan

Cheetah print is probably my favorite ever.  When a friend of mine gave me this cheetah print cardigan in a bag full of hand me downs, I was ecstatic about it and wore it the very next Sunday night to church.

Outfit Details: Cardigan (hand me down, original unknown); WhiteTee: Target;
Black Jeggings: Old Navy; Booties: Payless

Let's talk about these jeggings for a sec.  Why didn't I know these existed before now?!  I bought these a couple of weeks ago at Old Navy and I LOVE them.  They have an elastic waist.  Did you read that correctly?  Yes, you did.  An.elastic.waist.  I thought that was only okay when you're either pregnant or 80+.  But, no, ON said it's okay and so I am just dying over these.  They fit awesome (more like a jean than a legging), and the top is surprisingly slimming - and to top it off, there are no bulky zippers or buttons if you're wearing a slim fitting tshirt! I'll take these in every color they come in, thank you very much!!!

I have really gotten my money's worth out of these earrings!  I bought them at Body Central (which has closed in my local mall - so sad) and I have worn them so much!  I also really love my initial necklace (you can't see it very well) that I got from Charming Charlie, as well as this beautiful necklace that my mom got me for Christmas.

Isn't it so fun to accessorize with Cheetah print?!  I'm pretty sure it will always be a favorite!

Happy Wednesday!

Striped Skirt

   Love this skirt from Target. I got it 3 years ago & still love it as much as when I got it.

My black sweater came from Gap & my black boots from Ross. I love these gold earrings Amy gave me for my birthday, I love the bracelet my mom bought me for Christmas & I am thoroughly enjoying my gold initial necklace!

Comfy Pajama Pants

I love these new pajama pants I bought the other day. I got them from Ross for $8! A pair almost exactly the same were at Old Navy for $24! They are super comfortable & I don't feel as bad wearing them around the house all day like I do with some of my other pajama pants!

Current Favorites

Today I'm going away from my normal WIWW post and I'm going to share a few of my current favorites.

First, I have found some eye makeup remover that I absolutely LOVE!  I love this remover because it completely takes off waterproof mascara without having to scrub very hard.  I have never had a remover that was so easy to use, and I am completely hooked!

The picture above says that it is the #1 eye makeup remover brand in America, and although I didn't know that when I bought it, and although I don't know if that is really the truth or not, I can totally affirm that I could see how it would be!

Secondly, I have found a foundation that I really love!  I have used L'Oreal for as long as I can remember, but over the past year or two, I have felt like it left me a little orange-y looking, as well as it has always felt a little heavy to me.  I know a lot of people who use Bare Minerals, so I decided to give it a try.  Although the initial investment was pretty pricey (I bought the application brush, the foundation, and the powder), I was told that in the future I will not have to buy a brush, and that the powder lasts for a really long time.

One thing I love about this foundation is how light it feels.  One day I almost panicked because I couldn't remember if I had put on my makeup or not - I couldn't feel it on my face!  I love that it does not wear heavy.  I do feel like if I had bought the foundation alone that it would have been a little too light for my face, but when I apply the powder (which I bought in Tan), it makes it the perfect color for my face and just completely sets my foundation.

Lastly, I have found a couple new fashion blogs that I absolutely LOVE!  The one below is my absolute favorite.  I am pretty guilty of checking out the blog daily, not to mention I follow her on Instagram.  Just check her blog out and I'm sure you'll understand why I love her blog so much...

I enjoy looking at this next girl's blog because, as her blog title points out, she is extra petite!  Sometimes it is good to get fashion inspiration from someone who is on the shorter side of life and understands the challenges of being small!  This girl has a classic sense of style and I always love her fashion combinations!

And that's it for my current favorites!  Hope you enjoyed!

Happy Wednesday, friends :)

Pink, Stripes & a little bit of floral

 During the winter, I sometimes tend to wear black & grey & then more grey & black. Every now & then I need some color! I had to wear my favorite color in order to brighten my spirits a bit...& of course, that would be pink! I wore these pink pants I bought from Ross a few years ago, a striped sweater I have from Ross from a long time ago, an orange & pink floral scarf I got as a birthday gift 2 years ago & my brown boots from JCPenney. I put gold jewelry with it & one of my favorite pieces was this gold disc necklace with my initial. It was so nice to be wearing some bright colors!

Monogram tunic

If it was acceptable to order something from Marley Lilly on a daily basis I might just do it. Again, I can never have too much monogram, right?? And on a plaid tunic?! Yes, please! When I saw this tunic online, I instantly had to buy it.  I love the blue plaid and the casual feel of this tunic. I'm also pretty sure I could wear leggings and a tunic every day of winter... But that might not be acceptable! ( So please ignore my picture quality here... My lovely 6 year old had to take my pictures!) Love this tunic with leggings and boots but I also can't wait to try it with flats for spring, which is hopefully right around the corner!!

Blue & Grey

   I love wearing dresses, whether it's winter, summer, spring or fall. I love dresses. I have had this dress for years now. I'm actually not sure where I got it from but I'm assuming Ross. I paired this interesting colored blue cardigan with it that I got from Gap for $3 a few years ago. The black tights that I wore with it I wear all the time in the winter. The black boots are from Ross also. I really wish you could see my necklace & earrings better(they were from New York & Company). It matches with my cardigan perfect!! It's special to me because my mom gave it to me for Christmas a few years ago.

Hand me downs

One of my favorite things about having three sisters is being able to share clothes. We always seem to be switching clothes back and forth between each other! We have all said that sometimes after we see a different way that someone else wears something we have given them we decide we want it back!This past weekend Jesse and I took the kids out to run some errands and I wore a top that Katie had passed down to me.

Top: Hand me down from Katie; Jeans: Strawberry;
Necklace: Target; Boots: Christmas gift-I think from Target

What I Wore Wednesday...A Casual Christmas

This Christmas, I could definitely define my style in one word:  CASUAL!  And for all of you who know me really well, I'm sure that surprises you.  I mean, I can totally admit that I'm the girl whose casual usually includes some kind of heel of some type.  I just don't like or do casual very often.  However, this year was a little different.  Christmas Eve found me in Christmas pajamas all day.  True story.

For Christmas day, every year we are at my dad and mom's house pretty much all day, and I knew I wanted to be comfortable but cute.  I  ended up wearing a very comfy tunic with some jeans and my lace up boots.  I allowed my kids to go comfortable, too, and my oldest daughter made sure to tell me that she loved my outfit AND the fact that she didn't have to be all dressy all day! ;)

Here's a look at my casual Christmas outfit...

 Outfit Details: Tunic:  The Perfect Fit (local Boutique); Scarf: Gift;
Jeans: Hand me down (Old Navy Rock Star); Lace up Boots: Payless Shoe Source;
Boot Socks: DIY from some of my husband's socks!

As you can see in my outfit deets, I did DIY these boot socks.  I was looking at some boot socks and couldn't get over the fact that they are like $10 for a pair!  So instead I came home and dug through my husband's sock drawer and found a pair of large gray socks - they even had a furry feel on the inside, so they're cute turned over the boot like I have them here or just worn straight on the leg above the boot.  I just cut off the foot and wear a pair of socks and then just wear the boot sock like a cuff instead of a sock.  Free boot socks instead of $10 boot socks are much better; don't you think?!

My husband has admitted that he really, really dislikes scarves, so I try to limit my scarf wearing, but it just seemed like this tunic needed a little extra boost...so this next pic is all for you, babe! ;)....

I especially loved this tunic when I saw the elbow patches.  You all know how much I heart elbow patches...not to mention the extra fabric at the bottom creating the "untucked shirt underneath" look added a fun dimension, as well, to this tunic!

I loved my Christmas outfit and was glad that I was comfortable all day!

Hope you're enjoying your holiday break!
Happy Wednesday :)

Aeropostale Jacket

For my birthday I got this really cute & comfortable Aeropostale jacket from my friend Lesa. It is lined inside so it is super warm which is exactly what I've been needing during this cold front. I put this scarf with it that I've had since I was in high school. It's gotten a lot of wear over its time. I put my Old Navy jeans with it & these black boots I bought from Ross a few years ago.

Hope you are staying warm & enjoying this time of winter.

The perfect legging

I can't begin to explain my search for the perfect legging. I have a long list of criteria. For me, one of the most important things is I want my leggings thick. If I can at any point see skin through my leggings, I'm not happy. I mean, I don't want to look like I'm wearing a shirt and pantyhose. Due to my search for the perfect legging, I have done a lot of shopping for leggings. I have tried cheap stores, expensive stores, boutiques.. You name the store and I have probably tried a pair of their leggings.

Last week, all this changed. I found THE perfect leggings! And it was actually by accident. I had gone into Ross stores and decided to pick up a pair of maroon leggings. When I decided to wear them last week, I realized the moment I put them on I had found the perfect leggings. They were SO comfortable, the perfect fit and they were thick enough that even on a cold day they kept me completely warm and covered perfectly. I was instantly in love. The only problem?? I had bought them at Ross store so I didn't know if I would ever be able to find them again. Luckily, I looked on amazon and they carry this brand of leggings.

I have already placed my order for several more pairs to get me through the winter. If you are like me and haven't been able to find those perfect leggings that you truly love, you must try these. They are amazing!!

Cosmetic Organization

I don't know about you, but there is just something about the beginning of a new year that makes me want to totally reorganize everything in my house! Lucky for me, my mother-in-law gave me the perfect gift for Christmas to help me out with that. She gave me this awesome spinning caddy to use in my bathroom to organize all of my cosmetics. I really have to say, I felt like I had my cosmetics pretty organized before, but I LOVE the way I have everything set up now! I really wish I would have thought to take some before pictures, but I was so excited to get my caddy all set up that I just went to town filling it up and didn't even think about taking any pics. Luckily, we have an extra large double vanity in our bathroom so we have plenty of room for my new toy....because I also have my big magnifying mirror on there! Anyway...here it is all set up and filled with all my makeup and skin care and such.

It's so pretty!! I love that it spins so I can easily reach whatever I need. On this side I have some blush, bronzer and lip balms in the slotted area on the top. The bottom area on this side is just wide open which is really nice for larger item such as my moisturizer and eye cream.

More large open areas for my face mask and eye makeup remover. I do actually have a few slots that are open...I guess this means I need to buy more makeup!

Lots and lots of eye shadows!

Bare Minerals stuff.

Random stuff....and more open slots!

This is from the top. I have all of my brushes, my lipsticks, eyeliners and mascaras up here. I am all about some organization, so this is right up my alley! It makes getting up and getting ready in the morning a little more fun!

Happy New Year!!!

I cannot believe that 2014 is actually over and 2015 is begun. This past year has absolutely flown by. I have to confess that these last few weeks I have slacked off big time with the blog. I have been really busy trying to make Christmas special for my kids and trying to get everything done that needed to get done and the blog fell by the wayside for a few weeks. BUT...I'm back on track now and ready to go!!!
Today I'm just going to show you guys the outfit that I wore the Sunday before Christmas. I wanted to look festive, but I had already done the red thing the week before. I don't have a pic (like I said...slacker here), but that week I did a black pencil skirt and black turtleneck with a dark red cardigan. I wore my new long strand of pearls from Premier with it and I loved the way it turned out! I'll have to do it again sometime and do a picture...maybe around Valentine's Day! Anyway, I wanted to go in a different direction this week, so I went with sparkle instead. I've had this skirt for several years and I always love wearing it. It feels so special and classy! I got a lot of compliments on it.

Top: Unsure;
Skirt: Ann Taylor Loft;Shoes: Target;
Jewelry: Premier

This would also make a great New Year's outfit! I'm looking forward to this new year and seeing what all it holds for me and my family!
