Rain, Rain Come Today

For years, literally for years, I have been wanting a rain jacket! They are a bit expensive though! So, I put one on my Birthday/Christmas list & Daniel got me one from 13TWELVE! Thankfully, the very next day it rained so I got to wear it!! I love it! It is lightweight & so comfortable! My rain boots are from Target!

A Floral Dress

I love wearing feminine floral dresses. They are a bit harder to wear though in the fall. So, since it's been a little cooler I put a cardigan, leggings, boots & boot socks with the dress. I got this dress a few months back at Ross for $8.99, the cardigan was from Target a couple of years ago, the leggings were from Ross like 6 years ago (that I love, they are really a dark jean legging), the boot socks from Etsy, & the boots were from JCPenney. I promise I am wearing other boots this season but for some reason every outfit I show I am wearing those!! I wore this the other night when Daniel took me out on a date for my birthday!

I pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Count your blessings name them one by one...

Charming Charlie

Monday morning is upon us again. Can anyone else not believe that Christmas is only 30 days away? And that Thanksgiving is THIS WEEK?? Wow, that happened fast! Last week I realized I haven't done hardly any christmas shopping so Friday night we got a sitter and went out with some friends for dinner and christmas shopping. It was such a fun night. While christmas shopping for a friend, I decided to go into Charming Charlie. I have been in Charming Charlie only once or twice before and it was to look for something in particular. I must say, I found all kinds of amazing things in there. All kinds of cute clothes, jewelry, scarves and more. I have to share these two cute tops I found. And, infinity scarves in every color and pattern for only. $10!!! Love when I find a new store to shop at and I will definitely be shopping Charming Charlie more often, and not just for jewelry!! If you haven't been there lately, go check it out! You will find lots of cute tops, jewelry, scarves and handbags! So ps, anyone reading me this that wants to get me a Charming Charlie gift card for my birthday, I would welcome it!! :) Check out a few of my finds!

Jeggings and Boot Socks

One of my favorite trends last fall was boot socks! I thought they were so adorable, and Katie gave me a couple of pairs for Christmas. I had just had Graham though and my feet were still so swollen that I couldn't fit them into my boots!! So...I never got to wear my boot socks last season! I was hoping they would still be in style this year so I would be able to wear them now. Today Jesse and I both had the day off. We went up to the school to eat lunch with Abby and Jared for their Thanksgiving Feast. Also, today is Graham's birthday! So, we took him back up to the NICU for a visit with his nurses who took care of him for such a long time.
I knew we were going to be running around all day so I wanted to be comfortable, but still look nice. I wore my jeggings with a top that I really like. I like this top because it's not just your normal black and white...it has the pop of pink. Then I added my boots and boot socks.

What I Wore Wednesday...A Pretty Dress

As far as clothes go, nothing warms my heart more than a pretty dress.  Add to that dress the details of a cheetah print, a 50s style frame, and a sheer overlay, and you have me totally in love!  This dress is one of my absolute favorites, and I got so many compliments a few Sundays ago when I wore it.

Outfit Details:  Dress:  Platos Closet ($12.00!!, original unknown);
Sweater:  Platos Closet; Heels:  Old - can't remember original

The wind was crazy the day we took these pictures, and it was so extremely cold that I didn't worry too much over the quality of the pictures.  I think you can see how pretty the dress is, though!

I also wanted to share a quick pic of the necklace that I wore with this dress.  I picked this necklace up at Charming Charlie for only $8.00, and I absolutely love it!  It's simple but can be dressed up or down.

Don't you love all the small details? I will forever love a cheetah print, and when it's paired with an elegant dress, you will just about never go wrong!

Happy Wednesday :)

Grey

It has been COLD! I am not complaining though! I find that I gravitate to grey a lot in the winter (wait, didn't I just say like a week ago that fall had just gotten here?)!  I don't know what season it is I just know it's chilly outside. Both grey outfits for today are ones I have had for a long time. So, the first grey I wore were these grey leggings with an oversized black sweater. I put a long white shirt underneath it & my brown boots. The second is a sweater dress, with a black turtleneck, & some black heavy leggings underneath. I put my black boot socks with it for extra warmth & my trusty brown boots (that I'm obsessed with)!

"Sunday Best"

So today is a bit of a different post. I have been so blessed by a blog that I read called Love God Greatly. Weekly these devotions speak to me. I'm so thankful for them and how they challenge me. This morning especially, I could relate to the post. God has already been working in my heart on this matter and reading this post blessed my heart. I want to share it with you! Today I am asking myself, do I spend as much time focused on what I clothe myself in on the inside as I do the outside? Fashion is so fun for us ladies but I want to encourage you today, don't forget about what you are clothing yourself inwardly with just because you are spending so much time making sure to look your best outwardly! Take a look at this post:

http://www.lovegodgreatly.com/

Hope this post will bless you as it did me. This week I will choose to focus on being clothed with compassion, patience and humility!

On another note, I wanted to share these cute booties I found at Old Navy! Loving these cute boots and the price tag, $10.00! Can't beat that, right?!

Happy Monday!

A Long Cardigan

Well with the weather we've been having recently, it has switched overnight from sweater weather to PARKA weather!  We have been having some cold weather here in the South lately, with lows in the 20s.  A few nights ago it was still pretty mild, so I pulled out a long cardigan that was given to me by a friend.  To change thing up, instead of pulling out my skinny jeans (which have pretty much become my go-to jeans), I pulled out my wide leg jeans.  After adding a scarf, it was the perfect combination of comfy and cute for a chilly night!

Purple Corduroy Pants

Last week Jesse and I had a date night. We went to Bonefish and then we headed over to Barnes and Noble for coffee and cheesecake! While we were there we actually picked up three Christmas gifts! I can't believe it is that time already! My most favorite time of year!!
Since the weather is cooling down, I pulled out one of my favorite pairs of pants....my purple corduroy's. These are a fun change from wearing jeans all the time. (Or scrubs, which is what I'm usually wearing.) I paired these with a light-weight grey sweater and my grey booties. I wear these booties all. the. time. I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of them!

Wardrobe Remix

I love finding new fashion blogs, and since I love to share my great finds with you, that's what I'm going to do today!  I especially love when I find a blog that not only shares fashion but shares tips and ideas for remixing your closet.  I absolutely love to take old things and wear them in new ways.  A fun new blog I have found is Putting Me Together.  In this blog post from last year, the blog author remixed 10 items to make 14 outfits.  They are simple but show how easy it is to remix outfits to get new wear out of old items.

Have you ever tried to do a mix and match?  I am challenged by this and am going to try to take the time soon to do this with my own closet!

Take some time and check out this girl's blog...there are tips from how to build a wardrobe from scratch, to how to build a remixable wardrobe, to styling tips.  I'm sure you'll find something that you will enjoy!  Now go try to remix your wardrobe!

Happy Wednesday :)

A Dressy/Casual Striped Dress

A few weeks ago when it was still warm outside, yet it was October, I wore this black & white striped dress! I put my brown boots & my brown purse with it. I decided to wear my pearl necklace & earrings to dress the outfit up. The whole outfit was so comfortable & I really enjoyed wearing it! The dress was given to me, the boots were JCPenney, the purse Goodwill, & the jewelry was from Burlington.

Sweater, jeans & boots

Is there any combination better than a sweater, jeans and boots? For me, no. There just isn't. If it was appropriate to wear this everyday, I think I would. I could live in these! This past Friday night, my husband and I got a night out ALONE! How often does this happen you might ask? Rarely! We spend most of our time with friends, family and our kids!! :) But we celebrated 10 years of marriage this past week! 10 years!! I'm not sure how that is possible but it is. Every year with my amazing husband gets better and better. Anyhow, when we went out to dinner last Friday night, I chose to keep it casual (as always!) I wore this new sweater that I found a few weeks ago at T.J. Maxx. I love these style sweaters and loved the particular pattern on this one. And these Rockstar jeans from old navy, well I couldn't live without them. They are my favorite skinny jeans I have found. The fit is perfect and they are not low rise! I do honestly despise low rise jeans. So they are perfect for me. And these boots, let me just say, they have been well worth the splurge I made on them. These are lucky brand and I love the casual feel of them. They are last season and still in great condition. I have become a big fan of lucky boots since purchasing these and have since bought several other pairs. Loving that it is finally the season that it is appropriate to wear my sweater, jeans and boots daily! On a side note, my little B must have known she was not going out with us this particular night because she was insistent that she had to be in my picture. But she is so adorable, how could I not include her in these pics?!

Fall Family Pictures

About a month ago we had family pictures made! I was so excited because these were our first real photos since Graham was born. Of course, I stressed out about what we all were going to wear. I wanted us to "coordinate, but not match". I went back and forth on what we all would wear. I knew we were going to be outside in a field, so it would be semi-casual.
At first, I wanted all of the guys to wear flannel shirts and jeans. Then I started thinking that might look too "Farmer Brown". I did end up putting all of them in jeans. Jesse and Jared both had on brown striped shirts/sweaters. Jared's had an orange and blue stripe in it, and then Graham wore a navy and orange striped shirt.
Abby wore a really cute navy dress with polka dots on it. And I thought I was wearing a navy dress as well...I realized the day before that my dress was actually black. At that point though, I just couldn't worry about it. I think it turned out fine though.

So, as you can see, our outfits didn't match at all, but I think they looked good in the pictures. I was really happy with how the pictures turned out! They were done by Mandy Lea Photography and I thought she did a great job!

Coral and Green

This past Sunday night I wore one of my favorite tops. I love this top for a couple of reasons. One thing I love about it is the color. The coral is so bright and fun, but then it has the green added in as well. But what I love most about it is that it has these really cute little birds all over it. I really like birds and have a lot of them around my house. (For decoration, not live ones!)
I paired this top with my green jeans and I thought it went perfectly! I just love it when that happens! I wasn't exactly sure what shoes to wear with this outfit, but I ended up going with my grey booties. The pants weren't laying exactly right so I cuffed them, and then they fell better. The temperature that evening was a little chilly, but not bad. I threw on a short-sleeve cardigan, and that ended up being just right.

What I Wore Wednesday...Neutrals

I know I'm a little late getting this post up here today, but I guess it's better late than never; right?!

I'm crushing on this taupe color lately...neutrals can be very pretty, and I love the way this outfit came together a couple of weeks ago for Sunday morning church.

Outfit Details:  Sweater Dress:  Hand me down (original unknown);
Nude Heels:  Target

This sweater dress came without belt loops, but I chose to belt it and used a gold and silver mix belt that was handed down to me from my grandmother, so it's pretty special to me!  I love neutrals and browns, and am so excited that it's fall and time to finally wear all my darker hues!

Happy Wednesday!

Chiffon Shirt

Sunday was a precious day for our family. Our oldest daughter Jenna got baptized by her daddy! It was so sweet! We really had a great day celebrating that our daughter will one day spend eternity with Jesus!
On another note, the weather was cold...it was great! I was excited that it finally, truly feels like fall. For Sunday morning, I wore this black & white chiffon shirt that I bought from Old Navy for $9. I paired it with a maroon pencil skirt that I have had since I was in high school! I decided to wear my black heels I got from Ross a few years ago since the skirt hit at a weird place on my boots. Then I wore a black & white necklace my mom gave me a few years ago! The earrings I wore are special because my mom gave me these a few years ago. They only go with a few specific outfits so I wear them every chance I get!
On Sunday night, I decided to wear the same shirt with a different twist. I decided to put my black pants with it. I don't typically wear pants on Sunday nights so I felt so weird wearing this. It was funny though because I received multiple compliments on my outfit that night! I really liked the shirt & I can tell I am going to get a lot of wear out of it!

Blazer and jeans

I love a blazer with jeans and heels. Blazers are always a staple for me. I found this particular blazer on Jane.com a few months ago and loved it. I'm always a little nervous ordering clothes online, but this fit perfectly and I loved the soft feel of this blazer. It is black and has brown elbow patches, which I thought was a really cute addition to this blazer. I kept this outfit simple, of course, with skinny jeans and black heels. Since jeans are my favorite wardrobe piece, I love dressing them up with a blazer like this and heels. If you don't normally dress up your jeans, you should try it! It makes an outfit like this really cute.
