Future Fall Styles

   Let's be honest...it's still pretty warm in East TX! I haven't been just loving most of my "in between" outfits but rather looking forward to many fall/winter outfits to come! I wanted to share some of these with you! I found all of these from Pinterest & you can count on it that I WILL recreate these somehow! I love that these are so different too! Let's get started...

Black Skinny jeans, button down shirt, belt, bag

This...I love it! It works so well together. I found this at http://www.becauseshannasaidso.com/2013/10/three-fall-trends-with-style-elixir.html

#fall #fashion ---- cognac boots, white pants, floral button down, gray sweater, statement necklace

The floral peeking out is so feminine. I really like the blouse with a sweater over it too! I don't know if I would wear the white pants or not? I saw this at  http://indulgy.com/post/GGpopcSVU1/fun-fashion-for-fall

Stick to a colour palette when packing for travels - lighten up with grays, blush pinks, white and creams / the love assembly

Isn't this just beautiful? This is very much my style. I love how dainty the dress is with the buttons & tie belt & of course the pink! I like the dress paired with the grey & of course her nails painted!
This came from http://www.hellofashionblog.com/2014/09/how-to-transition-summer-maxi-into-fall.html

Cute Fall Fashion. I have these leggings and this is so my color!

I think we've talked about how leather would definitely have to be done right... I think this is done just perfect. It doesn't scream that you are wearing leather pants! The pop of turquoise just adds that extra flair to the whole outfit. This can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3IPLGsLfXI.

Do you ever come across outfits that just speak to you?! I love when that happens! I have many more but they will come at a later time! :)

Boots

I love fall clothes. I love sweaters and leggings and boots and flannel shirts. I could go on and on but truly, is there any time of year that is as fun to dress as fall? I don't think so! I have some fun things I'm hoping to add to my wardrobe this season! Here's a look at the boots that are on my must have fall list this year. I have several pairs of boots I'm really wanting this season but these, I am in love with!! I saw these on Pinterest but have yet to find them where I can purchase them. I can't wait to find these and add to my wardrobe. I love the wedge heel. I always love wedges so when they are in style, that's a plus for me! Being a petite girl, heels always work best and wedges are so comfortable. I also love the lace up look, which goes perfect with my casual style. Love these boots. Now I just need to find them and have the weather get cool enough to actually wear them. Happy Monday!

Red, Black & Leopard and Some Stripes!

I love to wear my leopard flats. I don't tend to wear flats a lot with dresses but I decided to with this outfit (& it was a rainy day this day so it worked out well!). I have had this red dress from Express since my college graduation! The black cardigan is about as old & it is from Target. My leopard belt is from Goodwill & my necklace & earrings are from Walmart.

I have a slight obsession with STRIPES! I love them in shirts, sweaters, skirts, scarves...I just love them! I loved wearing this outfit because it was comfortable yet I felt like it was still cute! The shirt & skirt both came from Ross!

Puple Floral and Cowboy Boots

One of my favorite things about having sisters and a mom who are all fairly close to the same size is that we can all trade clothes back and forth. The other day my mom brought over a bag of clothes for me to go through...which I belive Stacy had given to her! This dress was one of the things I pulled out and I really liked it. I knew it was perfect for this season right now, and when I tried it on I immediatly knew I wanted to pair it with my cowboy boots.

This dress is great for this weather right now because the sleeves are a little longer, but they are kind of gauzy. Our mornings have been kind of chilly, but the afternoons warm up so this is perfect!

What I Wore Wednesday...Fall Dresses

I love wearing dresses, and I wear them year round on Sunday mornings to church, no matter how cold it gets.  I will just pull on some tights and wear boots and booties - no slacks for me, please!  I found this dress and felt like it was a perfect fall dress for the warm weather but fall date on my calendar!

Outfit Details:  Dress:  Ross Dress for Less;
Shoes: Ross Dress for Less;
Pearl Necklace: Jane

I was pretty excited about these shoes, as well.  They are different but fun.  I love that I can wear them with dresses or with my pants once it gets a little cooler!  You have to love anything that is versatile!

I am also loving the layering of necklaces that I'm seeing everywhere - I layered two  of my favorite necklaces, my pearl from Jane.com and my cross necklace that I have had since I was in 8th grade.  Yes, I can't believe I have held on to anything that long, but this cross is pretty special to me!

Happy Wednesday!

Some of My Last Year FALL Favorites

   Obviously last fall was a little harder than normal to dress stylish since I was pregnant. I did, however, stay true to a few items that I noticed I wore over & over last year & I'm already looking forward to wearing them again! Here are just a few:

1. Boot Socks! Here is a pic of me & Jenna rocking our matching boot socks! I wore them with dresses, leggings & jeans! I LOVE boot socks! You can get them from etsy but not some stores are selling them!

2. Neutral Cardigan. Ok, I love all colors of cardigans but for some reason this cardigan from Target I wore OVER, & over, & over...do you get the picture?? Once again, I wore this cardigan with jeans, leggings & dresses!

3. Leopard Scarf - my grandmother gave me this scarf for Christmas 2 years ago & I have worn it out!! I LOVE this scarf & I LOVE that she gave it to me...even more special!

4. Brown Boots - So, I'm ok with the "bootie" trend, but I will always wear me some knee high boots. Whether they are high heel knee high boots that I wear with my dresses on Sunday morning or casual knee high boots, they will always have a place in my heart & wardrobe! I bought these boots from JCPenney & I love wearing them every time. They are super cute & comfortable!

5. Last, but certainly not least, Leggings! Oh my, how I love my leggings! I wear them under dresses with boot socks & boots or under dresses with flats when the season is just changing. I can never have too many leggings! I wear them A LOT!

So, this was a fun time least year! All of us sisters & our mom went to Canton! And, let me point out that in this picture 3 out 5 are wearing leggings! They are a MUST!

On the previous picture I wore leggings with a long shirt & here I put it under a dress!

      Ahh, I cannot wait to see what end up being some of my favorites from this FALL season!!!

Black and white stripe

One of my favorite finds in Chicago was this cute skirt. I love black and white together. And the large stripe is a favorite pattern of mine. The minute I saw this skirt I knew I had to have it! I paired it with this simple pls navy tank that I bought a few months back on clearance. I wanted to keep the outfit simple so I it my silver and pearl jewelry with it. The necklace I purchased a few years back for, Maurice's. The style of this skirt is flattering on anyone! Its a great addition to any wardrobe. I got mine at forever 21 for $17.90!! Now here's just hoping next time I wear this skirt I'll have to pair it with a long sleeve shirt! :) happy Monday!

What I wore

Don't you just love the change of seasons? I love when the weather starts changing and I can start wearing new things, especially fall clothes! I love sweaters and boots and jackets and so on. Unfortunately we are not quite there to stay yet but at least I have been able to start wearing a couple of my fall pieces.

I love this green and blue top. I always like the sheer tops and this one is really cute. It buttons up the back giving it really cute detail as well. I'm loving these tan booties that I found at old navy. They are so comfortable and the perfect tan color. They make a great addition to my new fall clothes. I'm seeing booties everywhere for fall and they are so cute. But I'll be honest, I'm not ready to retire my knee high boots. I still love those as well! Anyone else love their knee high boots too much to say goodbye just yet?!

This top was a gift from a friend and the jeans are old navy rockstarts $(29.99). The boots are old navy ($29.99).

Happy Friday!

Bargain Buy

The other day Jesse and I were running some errands out in Sommerville and ended up in the square. I saw a really cute green and white dress in a store window and pointed it out to him. He asked if I wanted to go look at it, but I assumed it was in one of the boutiques so I said no, we couldn't afford it right now. We walked around for a little while and then Jesse convinced me to just go look at the dress. We walked into the store and when I looked at the price tag I had to do a double-take because it said $6.00!! I quickly realized that it was a resale shop! I was so glad I had listened to my husband and gone in.
This past Sunday at church we took our families pictures for the church directory. I saved the dress for that and was really glad I did.

Dress: Resale shop in Somerville, Shoes: Target

What I Wore Wednesday...Leather Details

I am loving the leather that is everywhere I look these days.  I absolutely fell in love with this dress when I saw it at Ross!

Outfit Details:  Dress:  Ross; Shoes: Plato's Closet

I have loved these shoes since the day I got them at Plato's...and I especially love them with this dress.  The shoes and dress are truly meant to be together.  I'm also loving this handbag I got at Ross...it's a Steve Madden and I paid under $20 for it!  At first I thought the zipper was a little faulty, but as I've used it, it has been fine.  I love it and can't wait to carry it more as the weather gets a little colder!

Don't you just love the look of leather, even in small doses?!

Happy Wednesday!

Shoes

   Shoes. They can either make or break an outfit. They are so vitally important to the overall appearance of your outfit. During the season changes, it is so hard to wear the right shoes! I have two pairs of shoes that I keep going to these last couple of weeks. I'm ready to pull out my boots but feel the need to hold off until the temperature is right. The first pair of shoes are my burlap Toms!

   The second are my nude dressy flats. I keep gravitating towards nude right now. I have worn these shoes though with skirts or jeans & either way have loved them!

I also have been wearing my leopard shoes but I'll tell you more about those at a later time!

Navy sweater dress

My love for navy continues. When I spotted this little beauty in forever 21 while shopping in Chicago, I knew I had to have it. Of course I loved the navy color but the material of the dress was so amazing as well. It's a thick sweater material, but with the short sleeves, it is the perfect dress to transition into fall with. The price on it made it even better, $29.99. And this weekend was the perfect  time to pull this dress out. We had the greatest fall weather this weekend! Can't wait to pull out some other fall favorites! Is anyone else ready to pull out the fall clothes??

Anniversary Dressin'

On August 17, my husband and I celebrated a very special day.  It was our two year anniversary for the church that we planted, Fayette Baptist Church.  It is so crazy to me that two years have already passed!  In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday that we started out on this journey, and sometimes it feels like we have been on this journey for the last 10 years!!!

I began looking early this year for the perfect dress.  I wanted trendy but not edgy, fashionable yet appropriate.  I found what I felt like was the perfect dress in March, and I had to wait until August to wear it!  I can't tell you how hard that was!!! But I did it and I'm so glad I saved it for the special day.

Outfit Details:  Dress:  Ross Dress for Less;
Necklace & Earrings: Charming Charlie;
Heels: Shoe Show (old)

I felt like this dress was such a great expression of who I am!  I love the 40s and 50s style dresses, and the swing and silhouette of this dress reminded me of those types of dresses.  I loved the trendiness of the chevron detail.  I loved that it was a one piece yet looked like a shirt and skirt.  I was just so pleased with this dress and was so happy that I found it!  And it always makes me happy to pull these red heels out of my closet, even if my feet were not happy by the end of the day!

Don't you just love it when you find the PERFECT dress for the PERFECT occasion?  That makes me so happy!

Happy Friday!

Green Bling

Last Thursday the Ladies Ministry of our church had a Ladies Night Out. We all headed up to the local Mexican restaurant and had a great night of fellowship and just chowing down on some yummy food! This is the outfit I pulled out for the occasion.

Top: Plato's Closet, Pants: Plato's Closet,
Shoes: Target

I love some colored jeans and was really excited when I found these and the top that went so well with them at Plato's Closet. I thought the top was pretty fun too with the sequins on it, without being too over the top.

What I Wore Wednesday...Out with the White...

So can we just talk for a sec about how I am so totally a creature of habit?  All my life I have grown up with a mama who taught me that there is a set season for white - the dates that you are allowed to wear white are between Easter ad Labor Day.  No white before Easter.  No white after Labor Day.  Now that fashion is giving its nod of approval to white year round, this southern dresser is just having all kinds of problems with that idea!  And so I just have to admit that I will ALWAYS be a seasonal white wearer.  I made sure to wear my white jean capris one last time before Labor Day.

Outfit Details:  Jean Jacket: Old Navy (very old); TShirt: JC Penney;
Jean Capris:  Old Navy; Shoes: Platos Closet (originally Target);
Necklace: Body Shop
I just have to point out here that my belt cost $2 and came from Goodwill!  And as far as honest confessions go, I hate Goodwill.  Lots of my friends say that they get great deals there, but I NEVER find anything there - I drove out to the supposed best.Goodwill.ever {which was about 25 minutes from my home} and walked out with this $2 belt.  That's it.  Go me.
I'm loving these shoes that I scored at Plato's Closet for $6!!!  I do love my Platos.  It's like Goodwill on steroids.
This beautiful Gianni Binni purse also came from Platos.  I love it because of its gold color - it's gold without being too gold, if you know what I mean!
So there you have the end of the white season for me.  Here's to warm colors and scarves and hot apple cider.  Wait, I don't even like apple cider.  But you know what I mean!
Happy Wednesday!

Black & White, Pink & Jean

   I want to show you two different outfits from the past week. The first is what I wore to a marriage seminar Daniel & I attended at our church. I knew every one would pretty much be wearing jeans but I didn't want to go that casual. Since I would be sitting there though for a couple of hours I did want to wear something comfortable. This black skirt I got from Old Navy years ago & this white tee came from Walmart for $4! I loved pairing the nude with it to just have an altogether toned down outfit. The nude purse came from Goodwill($6) & the nude flats from Ross($12).

   The second outfit was a running errands outfit! The whole family was going to a few stores & to eat so I put this baby pink shirt that was a hand me down on & these jeans from Old Navy (Rock Star - $19). The shoes were from Ross (wow, I feel like I say that a lot!!)!

Pink lace

Pink. Not a color I wear often. For some reason, pink is not my favorite color to wear but I love this top. It fits well and I love the lace look to it. It actually is kind of one of my go to outfits on those days that nothing seems to be looking right. I am also loving these shoes I got a steal on at Ross. I purchased these at the first of the summer and this is my first time to wear them! I have spent the last few days in Chicago and a let me tell you, a whole lot of shopping took place! Can't wait to show you some of the fun items I found there! Stay tuned for those posts coming soon!

A Look into my Beauty Routine...Part Two

Today I'm going to show you what's currently in my makeup bag.  Pretty much all of my cosmetics come from Walmart or Walgreens, because I just don't want to spend a lot of money on makeup.  I'd rather save that money for clothes ;)

For my foundation, I use L'Oreal true match.  I have used this for about two years and love it.  I do change up colors in the summer and winter, because I tend to have a nicer tan in the summer and I need a darker shade.  On days when I am going to church or somewhere nice, I use the L'Oreal true match foundation, sun beige W6.  When I am in a hurry and don't want to spend a lot of time on my makeup, I simply use the L'Oreal true match liquid powder (compact makeup), and I use the neutral buff beige N4.  The reason I use two different colors is that they don't carry the same colors in the compact makeup as in the foundation, and I also realized that the compact makeup tends to go on a little lighter, so I needed to go with a darker shade in that.

After my foundation is applied, I use the L'Oreal true match blush in subtle sable, warm W5-6.  I just recently changed colors and I really love this color on.

Once my blush and foundation have been applied, I use the Ulta Powder bronzer.  I love this because it evens out my foundation and darkens up my face in general just a bit.  Sorry about the picture below; that was the best I could find!

 Once the foundation is all done, I apply my eyes - I start out by lining them with L'Oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner.  I have used ALL.KINDS. of eyeliner and mascara, let me tell you.  I just recently tried this new eyeliner, and I absolutely LOVE it!  I almost didn't try it because of how thick the pencil is, but I have loved the application of this liner and it really lasts for a long time.  I bought it in black but next time will buy a brown pencil.  I think brown makes your liner not look quite as harsh.  I also use my liner to fill in my brows just a bit, because my brows are very thin.

Not long ago I tried out the Revlon eye shadow, and I cannot even tell you how much I love it!  I bought the 555 Moonlit Revlon colorstay with the four colors in it, and on the back it instructs on how to wear all four colors.  I don't know about you, but I have a tendency of getting into a rut of wearing my makeup the same way for like 15 years, so I have enjoyed changing up my eye routine a little bit.  This eye shadow lives up to its promise to last 16 hours!  I was surprised with how long this shadow lasted!

As I said earlier, I have tried so.many.kinds of mascaras, and the last time I ran out, I tried the Almay Get up and Grow, and so far I am really liking this mascara.  I don't know if I have seen any significant growth ;), but I do like the wand and feel like it helps with volume and length of my lashes.  It does say on the bottle "one coat", but I have to apply two or it does not look like I have very much mascara on.

After my face is pretty much done, I apply my lips.  For a while now I have pretty much done a fairly neutral lip.  I start out by lining my lips with Maybelline Rose 05 lipliner, and then I apply my lipstick, L'Oreal1165 Tickled Pink.

And that's it!  I have had to try lots of products and spend a good bit of money on things I didn't like to get to where I am today - with a makeup bag full of products that I actually like!

I'm always up for hearing things that are working for you with your cosmetics!  If you have anything great that you just can't live without, please do share!  Hope you've taken some ideas from the last two days of beauty posts.

Happy Sunday :)
